ANGIER, N.C. — Firefighters rescued a cat from a house fire in Angier early Tuesday morning.
Before 4:30 a.m., crews responded to the home at 51 Alex Lane near Abattoir Road.
A woman at the scene told WRAL News the home belonged to her mother, who wasn't home at the time of the fire.
No one was hurt, but firefighters rescued her mother's cat from flames. EMS workers gave the cat oxygen in the back of an ambulance and said it will recover.
Five fire departments worked together to fight the blaze.
The Harnett County Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
