Cary woman charged in alleged baseball assault

A Cary woman has been charged with assaulting another woman with a baseball, according to an arrest warrant.

CARY, N.C. — A Cary woman has been charged with assaulting another woman with a baseball, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant says that on May 21, Megan Grace Schlude, 18, of 107 E. Dynasty Drive, hit Jenna Hickman, of Raleigh, with "a baseball, a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury."

Schlude was arrested Friday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was released Saturday after meeting a $50,000 unsecured bond.

Her first court appearance was set for Monday.
