CARY, N.C. — A Cary neighborhood was without water Friday night and into early Saturday morning as crews worked to repair a broken 6 inch water main on Glengarry Drive.

The break was reported at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and water was restored at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Glengarry Drive was closed during the time the repairs were being made.

Workers remained on the scene filling in the large hole and making the road passable.

A Town of Cary Utilities employee working at the scene said the break was just due to the age of the pipe. It was estimated the line had been in the ground since the mid-1970's.
