CARY, N.C. — Police continued to investigate after a stabbing incident at the CinéBistro in Cary on Friday.

Carolyn Roman with the Town of Cary said the incident was reported around 7:47 p.m. Two couples were involved during a dispute while watching a movie there, Roman said. They went into the lobby, and a man took out a pocket knife and started waving it around.

The man injured the movie theater manager, who was sent to WakeMed for a puncture wound. His condition was not known.

Two employees and another man were treated at the scene for superficial wounds, Roman said.

"It is kind of scary because you think it’s a place that you just want to go and be with your family, and you don’t know what’s going to happen," said patron Christine Higgins. "Iit’s unfortunate this is what the world is now."

Roman said the suspect and his girlfriend fled the scene. Raleigh police were assisting in the investigation.

The movie theater was not evacuated and was operating as normal, Roman said.
