An officer responded to a trespassing call a Circle K gas station at 3505 Kildaire Farm Road and confronted a man in an SUV. During the encounter, the man put the vehicle into reverse and started driving off, dragging the officer across the parking lot, police said.

The officer was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and released.

Police provided little description of the man but said the vehicle was a white Ford Expedition with an inoperable left rear taillight and damage on the right front corner panel.
