CARY, N.C. — Cary is moving forward this week with improvements on a 6.2-mile stretch of the Cary Parkway.

The town is repaving a 1.2-mile section of road from Tryon Road to Holly Springs Road and a 5-mile section of Southwest Cary Parkway from High House Road to Kildaire Farm Road.

The town is also installing new traffic signal detection devices and pavement markings to help improve travel along the main corridor.

The project is expected to be complete in the fall.

Beginning Tuesday, crews will periodically close lanes, but at least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times, the town said in a news release Monday.
