CARY, N.C. — The 35-year-old man who shot himself over the weekend inside an RV on his property is dead, Cary police said.

Cary police said Ian Delauder died by suicide after shooting himself Sunday outside a Dorset Drive home.

According to Cary police, fire crews discovered Cecily Anne Walker-Scott, 34, of Raleigh, on Sunday in a fire pit on the property.

Cary police said Delauder was the murder suspect in Walker-Scott's death, which authorities are investigating as a homicide. Police said the timing and circumstances behind Walker-Scott's death are under investigation.

Police have not confirmed what relationship Walker-Scott and Delauder had, but did say they were looking into it.

Sgt. Kenric Alexander confirmed Delauder had a history with the Cary Police Department prior to Sunday's events.

In February, authorities arrested Delauder for felony possession of cocaine at the Dorset Drive home.

Alexander said Delauder had been facing up to 46 charges prior to his death.
