Cary man wanted after his wallet, ID found near scene of SC bank robbery

Lake City, S.C., police found a key clue to a bank robbery and are using it to search for a Cary man who is the suspect.

LAKE CITY, S.C. — Lake City, S.C., police found a key clue to a bank robbery and are using it to search for a Cary man who is the suspect.

According to police, South State Bank on Main Street was robbed June 17 by a man "in distinctive clothing."

The same outfit was found near the bank, and, in the pockets was a wallet with picture ID belonging to Christopher Jason McNeill of Cary.

Police did not provide a detailed description of McNeill, but Chief Jody Cooper said he may be driving a white Volkswagen hatchback.

McNeill should be considered armed and dangerous, Cooper said.
