CARY, N.C. — A Wake County jury found a Cary man not guilty last month of animal abuse charges filed against him more than a year ago.

Charles Becker, of Sturdivant Drive, was tried in October on five counts of torturing and tormenting animals by depriving them of necessary medical care. The jury found him not guilty on all charges.

Becker had asserted his innocence since the time of his arrest, telling WRAL News that accusations by a neighbor had been blown out of proportion.
