Cary man, 18, charged with rape

Cary police arrested an 18-year-old man early Tuesday and charged him with second-degree rape, possession of stolen goods, carrying a concealed gun and resisting an officer.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police arrested an 18-year-old man early Tuesday and charged him with second-degree rape, possession of stolen goods, carrying a concealed gun and resisting an officer.

Dustin Leavitt, of 1657 Glengarry Drive, was being held on a $305,000 bond. The rape allegedly happened at the end of March or beginning of April and was reported on April 24.

Police said they went to Leavitt's house Monday night and he took off with a gun. They eventually captured him in his backyard early Tuesday. No other details were released.
