Start of 2022 Cary Jaycees Christmas Parade briefly delayed after marching band member faints
Temperatures were chilly, in the upper 40s and low 50s, when the Cary Christmas parade kicked off Saturday afternoon.

- Candy will not be allowed to be thrown to spectators. To keep spectators from running in the street, parade participants must walk along the sidewalk and hand out candy.
- Floats must arrive to the parade site no later than 12 p.m. The parade begins at 2 p.m.
- All drivers participating in the parade should bring a copy of their latest inspection report if they have one.
- Cary police and firefighters will inspect cars and trailers before the parade.
- No more than 16 people are allowed on any float.
There was a brief delay to the parade's start time after Cary officials said a member of one of the high school bands participating suffered a "fainting spell."
"The young lady was treated by EMS on-scene. The parade start time was delayed to allow EMS to treat her and locate her parents," said the Town of Cary in a statement to WRAL News. "She is reportedly doing well and was released to her parents."
