Upscale Resale is our only local consignment sale this week.
The sale, which opened in 2007, features only higher end, boutique style children's clothing. You'll find both new and used pieces here. You won't find Carters or Baby Gap here. You will find play clothes, special occasion outfits and accessories that you would typically find at trunk shows and boutiques, for instance. There will be handmade smock dresses and more modern pieces too. The sale also has a special section for trendy tween and teen brands. Click here for the list of approved brands.

Just as an example, last fall at Upscale Resale's fall and winter sale, I bought some nearly new Land's End patent leather shoes for my six-year-old and an adorable Ralph Lauren Christmas dress and new Zutano pants for the baby. The total bill was about $20.

The public sale is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (when select items are 50 percent off). The sale is at the Cary Masonic Lodge, 1142 SE Maynard Rd. in Cary.

And in related news, The Divine Children's Show, which also features upscale, boutique children's clothing, is next week at the Pleasant Valley Promenade Shopping Center at 6280-102 Glenwood Ave. More on that sale next week.
