CARY, N.C. — A rush-hour car accident in Cary caused big problems for some residents.

The Highway Patrol said a vehicle lost control and hit a power pole at the intersection of Ten Ten and Holly Springs roads at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The accident caused 1,600 people to lose power and backed up traffic along Holly Springs Road for four hours.

The name and condition of the driver has not been released.

Holly Springs Road has since reopened and power has been restored.
