Cary brewery preps for opening of second location
Bond Brothers Beer Co. is planning to open its second location in Cary. Jeremy and Jay Bond said they decided to make the Eastside location a live music venue after hosting several live streamed performances from there during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bond Brothers beer company and Kerry had to get creative last year when covid 19 restrictions shut down their taproom and then covid hit. And who would have ever thought in a million years? Um, everything we've got shut down. So we had to literally rethink everything we were doing. At that point, it was challenging, but it was also fun and exciting at the same time. And it was amazing to see the how much the community kind of, um mm supported us. We had no no source of income at that point. I mean, we had some outside accounts, but a lot of those accounts shut down, shut down in his restaurants, bottle shops. They all had to adapt as well. So cake sales went down. Everything just completely changed. The carry brewery revamped its website and offered pick up and delivery. They also teamed up with other local brewers. Could thing called local brew drive through where we invited a bunch of our friends on the weekend to Basically we just sold their beer for them. So we had one central location, so people didn't have to go. Our bond brothers also decided to use their now vacant event space to host virtual concerts. We had an event space which obviously you couldn't use anymore because can't have about So, um, it was sitting there empty. Dark lights are off is kind of depressing. So we had to think of a way. What can we do to utilize this space? And a lot of our friends are musicians, and they obviously weren't working, so some people started to to live stream concerts. Our livestream performance is basically just to keep people keep the spirit so people entertain. So it went really well. We had a bunch of sessions at that location when that space was no longer available, they moved to their east side location, our local brew drive through group, and that expanded. So we ended up utilizing the space. So, yeah, we had to We had to kind of shift gears and find, like, a different space to do performances. And we thought of our east side location, maybe bring them out here. So we brought them here and just started doing performances and that that spawned a and the idea of maybe opening up a music venue here like that was never really our intention We We discussed that possibility. Maybe another place. But, um, we initially we're gonna open as the second tap room and have some different beer create a different vibe. But covid and the live streaming and music just changed and changed our gears and we shifted and revamped everything we had in mind. Yeah, we built a stage, and the rest is history really just started recording. And so hopefully in a few weeks, we're gonna slowly open our doors. Um And then when the restrictions lesson have performances, Bond Brothers is a two time WRL Voter's Choice Award winner for best local brewery.
