Carthage woman held on drug charges
A Carthage woman was charged Friday after deputies said she illegally obtained prescription drugs.
Posted — UpdatedThe Moore County Sheriff’s Office charged Jennifer Lynn Wood, 25, of the 300 block of Barrett Street, with two counts of felony trafficking in opiates, felony obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation to a health care provider and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Deputies said Wood fraudulently obtained 90 Endocet pills and 210 doses of methadone.
She was held in the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
A Candor woman was arrested on similar charges in a separate investigation Wednesday, deputies said.
Sallie Anne Steele, 45, of the 300 block of Robinson Road, is charged with felony trafficking in opiates and felony obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation to a health care provider.
