Carrboro man wanted on armed robbery charges

— Carrboro police issued a warrant for the arrest of Carlton Anthony Halliday, 21, on charges that he robbed a man a gunpoint Wednesday.

The victim told police he gave Halliday a ride to the Colonial Village complex. When he stopped the car, Halliday pulled a gun on him and demanded his phone and wallet.

Carrboro police charged Halliday with attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, larceny of a motor vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon.

They warn that Halliday should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his location is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
