CHARLESTON, S.C. — Jerry Richardson, owner of the Carolina Panthers, donated $100,000 to the City of Charleston to assist families of the victims of a church shooting there this week.

Bakari Sellers, a candidate for South Carolina lieutenant governor, posted a photo of Richardson's letter to Twitter Saturday afternoon.

In it, Richardson designates $10,000 for each of the nine victims' families and $10,000 for Emanuel AME Church as a memorial.

"Our hearts are one with those who grieve the loss of these individuals," Richardson wrote.
