RALEIGH, N.C. — Looking for a fun way to make money and memories this summer? Pullen Park is hoping to hire dozens of new employees to help keep the summer magical, just as they have for over a century.

Touted as a chance to be part of Raleigh history, the park is hiring for a variety of summer jobs – like camp counselors, lifeguards, inclusion aides, community center staff, lake operations staff and more.

"We've been around 135 years, so it's a great opportunity to serve the community and have a fun job," says Cara McLeod, senior marketing communications analyst for the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources department.

The park is hosting a job fair on Thursday, May 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. in shelters 2 and 3. The event is almost like a carnival in itself -- including free pizza, popcorn and even games, alongside open interviews.

Earlier this month, they hosted a successful job fair, filling many positions within the park. Now, they are hosting a second fair seeking a specific range of summer-themed positions at the pool, park, lake and camp.

"There's something different every day," says McLeod. "That's what I love about working in parks."

Most of all, McLeod says employees get to help create memories for families at a park that's been part of the community for generations.
