GREENVILLE, N.C. — An act of kindness in Greenville is turning heads.
WITN reports Antonio Hernandez was working at the Evans Street Car Wash when he found a $1,200 IRS stimulus check in the trash.

It belonged to Charles Thompson, who had no idea it was there.

“I never thought I was going to get a check, because of moving in the past year and my address not changing," said Thompson.

Somehow, his check ended up in a car wash trash can.

Hernandez and his daughter, Michelle, were able to track down Thompson and get the check back to him.

“I was behind on rent, I work construction so I work by the day, and I just try to keep going and going as best I can,” said Thompson,. "The money helped me get back on my feet.”
