WENDELL, N.C. — A vehicle flipped three times along Interstate 87 in Wendell after a slowdown in traffic caused the vehicle to swerve.

The driver of an SUV slammed on their breaks after traffic began to slow down, causing their car to swerve, hit the guardrail twice and flip, according to the state trooper on the scene.

An adult, young adult and child were all in the car and are expected to be OK. The young adult and child were taken to the hospital.

The trooper said he believed everyone inside was wearing their seatbelts. The child was strapped into a safety seat, making a big difference, he said.
