<b>GARNER, N.C.</b> — A driver was charged with DWI early Sunday morning after his car crashed into a tree on U.S. Highway 70 in Garner.

Around 5:30 a.m., officials responded to a crash on US-70 near Yeargan Road. Crews at the scene said one car lost control, drove off the roadway and ran into a tree.

The driver, who was charged with DWI, refused to be transported to the hospital but suffered minor injuries. The car was heavily damaged.

One lane of US-70 was blocked for about 90 minutes as a result of the crash.
