RALEIGH, N.C. — A car hit and toppled a power pole on Glenwood Avenue at Marriott Drive near Crabtree Valley Mall at around 4 a.m. Friday, officials said.

After hitting the pole, electrical wires and traffic lights came crashing down. A second car driving got caught up in the wires.

Both drivers were injured and transported to the hospital, but will be ok, officials said.

Police said that Westbound Glenwood Avenue is blocked at Creedmoor and Leadmine roads. As of 7 a.m., detours are in place at these intersections.

It is unclear if anyone will face charges at this time. Raleigh police is conducting a follow-up investigation.
