RALEIGH, N.C. — Police said everything inside a car was completely charred in an overnight fire except a Bible on the dashboard.

Officials responded to a car fire at an apartment complex along Platte Crossing in the Brier Creek area around 1 a.m. Tuesday, where a Jeep was in flames.

According to police, the Jeep caught fire after some type of mechanical issue.

The driver was able to get out and nobody was injured, but almost the entire interior melted away or burned. The front of the car was reduced to ashes.
