Car Carrier Runs Off Road, Causing Backup

According to Henderson Police, the driver of a car carrier blacked out behind the wheel and veered off I-85 into a stand of trees.

HENDERSON, N.C. — North Carolina State Troopers were investigating the cause of an accident on I-85 Monday afternoon.

According to Henderson Police, the driver of a car carrier blacked out behind the wheel and veered off the road into a stand of trees. Jeffrey Clyde Dyson, of Hiddenite, was treated and released from an area hospital. The identity and condition of another peron in the cab was not available. Dyson was charged with failure to reduce speed.

The truck, licensed to LK Auto Transport of Taylorsville, was delivering eight cars.

One lane of I-85 remained closed northbound by late afternoon, and traffic was backed up between mile marker 212 and 206.
