RALEIGH, N.C. — U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will travel to North Carolina on Feb. 17 to headline two fundraising events supporting David Rouzer's campaign for the Republican nomination in the 7th Congressional District.

The fundraisers will be hosted by Wilmington businessman Scott Sullivan and his wife Jane at their home and in Wallace at the home of Dell and Wendy Murphy. Dell Murphy is the son of Wendell Murphy, a major player in the pork industry.

Cantor, a Virginia Republican, also backed Rouzer's 2012 congressional bid.

Democratic Congressman Mike McIntyre has said he won't seek re-election in the 7th District.

Rouzer is expected to face New Hanover County Commissioner Woody White in the Republican primary.
