<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A 21-year-old Camp Lejeune Marine was killed in Afghanistan on Friday, according to the Department of Defense.

Lance Cpl. Eugene C. Mills III, of Laurel, Md., died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
