A Cameron man was charged early Saturday after a vehicle accident that killed one person and injured another, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Travis Richard O'Donnell, 36, of Lizzie Jeter Lane, was charged by felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired and unsafe movement.

Officials said O'Donnell’s Ford F-150 pickup truck drove off North May Street after 1:30 a.m., striking the Hyundai Elantra car the victims were in.

Both vehicles came to a stop in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 1.

O'Donnell was held in the Moore County Detention Center under $410,000 bond. He is scheduled in court Oct. 23.
