Call for woods fire turns out to be mobile home in Harnett County
Harnett County firefighters called to a report a woods fire instead discovered a mobile home on fire.

ERWIN, N.C. — Harnett County firefighters called to a report a woods fire instead discovered a mobile home on fire.
WRAL's John Payne spoke with John Wilkes, Erwin Fire Department Assistant Chief, and reports the firefighters were called around 1 p.m. Monday to a woods fire just outside Erwin. When they arrived, instead, they found a mobile home on fire.
A neighbor told officials they saw an unknown person cleaning up around the mobile home and, apparently, set it on fire by accident. The unknown person fled the scene when firefighters arrived.
The home was a total loss, Wilkes said. There were no injuries.
