PLACER COUNTY, CALIF. — A California sheriff’s deputy rescued a furious bear that trapped itself inside a car near Lake Tahoe.

The bear was trapped in a Subaru Outback in Carnelian Bay, according to a Facebook post by the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

It destroyed the interior so badly that the doors couldn’t be unlocked.

Police decided the safest way to get the bear out of the car was to break the window.

Deputy Lade broke the window, which allowed the bear to jump out and flee into the forest.
