RALEIGH, N.C. — A lot of people are buying and selling homes in the Triangle, but if you're entering the housing market, there are a few apps that could give you an advantage.

Whether you're in the market to buy or sell, here are three apps that could make it easier:

– Homesnap. Good for buying or selling, Homesnap gives users an estimate on home values, taxes and property boundaries. Users can also look at the schools in a neighborhood.

If you're selling, the app lets you scope out the competition, adjust prices and step up your promotion efforts.

Homesnap is free for iOS and Android.

– Magicplan. The app lets you create a floor plan of a house just by taking pictures. Sellers can use it to help potential buyers envision the full potential of the house.

For a few bucks, users can create a printout of the floor plan that they can hand out to potential buyers.

Magicplan is free for iOS and Android.

– Houzz. For sellers, the Houzz app helps them with some design ideas for the interior and exterior of your home. App users can choose by style, location or room, like the kitchen or bathroom.

Use the app to get an idea of how a few modifications could change the whole look of a room.

Houzz is free for iOS and Android.
