Buster Douglas, Orlando Jones headline NC Comicon

Comic books and pop culture take center stage at the Raleigh Convention Center this weekend.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Comic books and pop culture take center stage at the Raleigh Convention Center this weekend.
NC Comicon: Oak City 2018 will feature comic book panels, talks on video game production and music, and presentations by renowned comic book artists, creators and television stars.

Boxing champion James "Buster" Douglas (who will host a retro video game challenge), actor Orlando Jones and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator, Kevin Eastman, will be on hand to meet fans and host panels. Other guests will include Rick and Morty writer Tini Howard and Jen Cohn, a voice over artist for popular video games including Overwatch.

Raleigh artist Eric McRay will be on hand to showcase some new characters from his comic book company.

Some event highlights include the Cosplay Showcase on Sunday at 5 p.m., where the best costumes from the weekend will be awarded.
