Hey, there are meteorologist, Brian Schrader and the WRL severe Weather center. It is the Wral weather alert day but some good news overnight, the storm prediction center did remove the level two risk from our southern counties, but everybody now is under a level one risk for severe weather this afternoon. That means we could see just one or two severe thunderstorms pop up later this afternoon and evening, damaging winds would be the big threat here. This is not a large hail or tornado kind of a setup, but we could see a couple of damages, wind gusts and it also looks like heavy rain is going to be a big issue for us later this afternoon and evening, we have a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. So any showers and storms that pop up could dump a lot of rain. So look out for flash flooding if you're going to be out and it looks like the general time frame for the worst of all of this is going to be between about two pm and 10 p.m. Here's a look at the latest run of Futurecast, putting it in motion through the rest of the afternoon. We can't rule out a little shower here or there through the early afternoon. But then as we head into the mid late afternoon, that's when our shower and storm chances really start to pick up around dinner time and beyond, you can see a lot of pretty significant rainfall showing up, especially around the triangle area and then point south as we head into the overnight hours. So you just need to keep that in mind as you head out today, Bein Bay Cultural Arts Festival in Durham at Rock Quarry Park from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Looks like we are going to be dodging showers, especially as we head into the 567 o'clock hours. Our exposure in downtown Raleigh RL, proud sponsor of Bim Bay and also our exposure. We'll see a little bit of problem with rain later this afternoon and into the evening tomorrow though is looking better maybe a morning shower. But overall for Sunday, I think we're going to see fairly dry conditions in the afternoon with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature, much cooler around 70 degrees. Big warm up as we head into next week, but it stays pretty dry till we get into Thursday and Friday. And that's our next chance of seeing some showers and storms.
