As of Monday, the Internal Revenue Service is able to process returns delayed by end of the year tax law changes. All taxpayers can now file their return.

The IRS urged taxpayers to file electronically this year to help ensure accurate returns and faster refunds.

Taxpayers claiming itemized deductions on Schedule A, taxpayers claiming the Higher Education Tuition and Fees Deduction, and taxpayers claiming the Educator Expense Deduction were required to wait to file so the IRS could re-program its systems to accommodate tax law changes made by President Barack Obama in December.
