Raleigh, N.C. — The North Carolina Employment Security Commission's Web site is up and running again after a snowstorm in the Northeast knocked it offline.
ESC spokesman Andy James said that the Web site is fully accessible again to customers, including those filing claims for unemployment benefits.
"We believe the problems have been fixed and that there should be no further interruption of access to Ncesc.com," said David L. Clegg, deputy chairman and chief operating officer of the agency.
Heavy snowfall in Boston had caused problems for an Internet domain registry firm, resulting in Web site access issues for hundreds of thousands of its customers, including the ESC. Those issues were resolved Friday night, and ESC staff tested the site Saturday morning, James said.
New claims can be filed by clicking on the "Individual Services" link on ESC's home page or by calling 1-877-841-9617.
Weekly certification for continued benefits can also be filed online or by calling 1-888-372-3453.
