DURHAM, N.C. — InterContinental Hotels Group will break ground in Durham on April 18 for a “Hotel Indigo.”

The six-story hotel will include 125 rooms. It is expected to open in April of 2008.

IHG operates more hotel rooms than any other hotel chain. The Durham project is its first in the Triangle region.

The Hotel Indigo will be built in southern Durham at the intersection of Old Page Road and Central Park Drive. Branded as a boutique hotel, the building will feature rooms with hardwood-style floors, spa-style showers, two meeting rooms, high-speed Internet access and indoor pool.
