LILLINGTON, N.C. — A company that makes vehicle barriers to protect airports, arenas, government buildings and other facilities has acquired a similar operation in Canada, officials said Thursday.

ATG Access Inc. purchased the vehicle barrier and gate division of Allen-Vanguard Corp. Terms weren't disclosed.

ATG will expand its operations in Lillington but doesn't expect to add any jobs.

The company was formed in the U.K. in 1989 as a manufacturer of security posts to protect cars and property. It now has four manufacturing sites worldwide. It moved to Lillington two years ago, when it acquired the vehicle barrier division of Boon Edam Inc.
