SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Ingersoll Rand plans to add 60 jobs at its Moore County plant, beginning in June, officials said.

The company plans to close its plant in Athens, Pa., and will transfer the work to the Southern Pines plant, at 1725 U.S. Highway 1, spokeswoman Susan Jaramillo said.

The Southern Pines plant produces air tools and fluid dispensing systems.

The new positions will include machinists and assembly workers. The additions will increase the work force from 118 to 178 employees in Moore County.
