Raleigh, N.C. — The Raleigh-Cary area is the best large city in the U.S. to do business, according to newgeography.com, a Web site devoted to analyzing and discussing places where people live and work.
Austin, Texas, and Salt Lake City finished behind Raleigh on the list. Charlotte ranked fifth.
A diverse economy, an abundance of high-tech workers and an educated work force were cited as reasons for Raleigh to top the list.
Durham ranked 11th among mid-sized cities, and Asheville was seventh among small cities.
