RALEIGH, N.C. — LM Restaurants Inc. said Friday that it would close its Papa Lou’s restaurants on Wake Forest Road and Western Boulevard in Raleigh on Dec. 31.

LM is shifting its focus to expanding its Carolina Ale House chain. The company owns eight of the sports-themed restaurants across the Southeast, including six in the Triangle.

Another three Carolina Ale House restaurants are set to open next year year: one in Terminal C at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in July, one in Boynton Beach, Fla., in March and one in the Congaree Vista in Columbia, S.C., in March.

Two additional locations are under negotiations, with future expansion plans throughout the Southeast, officials said.

LM Restaurants also owns Taverna Agora, an authentic Greek restaurant and bar on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, and Bentley’s at Crossroads on Walnut Street under the Bentley’s clock tower in Cary.
