DUNN, N.C. — Two crashes occurred on Interstate 95 in Johnston County Thursday night, injuring at least one person.

A school bus was being driven from Maryland to a company in Dunn that purchased it to refurbish and resell when the driver suffered a medical condition, according to the State Highway Patrol. The bus swerved from the southbound lanes near Dunn across the median and the northbound lanes before jumping a guardrail and ending up in a ditch.

The driver was taken to WakeMed with a head injury. No other injuries were reported, and traffic wasn't affected.

The second crash involved two vehicles near Micro on southbound I-95. The Highway Patrol said injuries and a vehicle fire were reported, but no other information was available. The crash briefly closed both southbound lanes.
