ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Police officers pursuing a burglary suspect hit a teen with their patrol car Tuesday.

Officers spotted someone matching the description of a person believed responsible for several car break-ins in the Battle Park area of Rocky Mount, but he ran when they tried to stop him, police said.

The officers pursued the suspect in their cruiser, and the car struck him off Bethlehem Road, police said.

Eric Gilbert-Murrain, 17, has been charged with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one count of resisting an officer.
