Leland, N.C. — A high school in coastal Brunswick County has been placed on lockdown because a suspicious person has been seen in the area, school officials say.
North Brunswick High School, 114 Scorpion Drive in Leland, was placed under lockdown around 9:30 a.m., said Stephanie Jackson, public-information officer for Brunswick County Schools.
Law-enforcement officers are on the scene.
Jackson said parents would be called, informing them about the situation.
