Brothers Injured in Separate Wrecks

Posted October 30, 2007 11:40 a.m. EDT

— Two brothers were injured in separate wrecks in Franklin County Tuesday morning, authorities said.

A woman was turning off N.C. Highway 98 onto Tarboro Road when her vehicle was struck by a truck, sending the vehicle off the road into a ditch, authorities said.

The woman was taken to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries, while the man driving the truck was taken to Franklin Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The wreck backed up traffic in the area, and a truck driving on U.S. Highway 401 near Tarboro Road ran off the highway and hit a tree as the driver tried to avoid a car stopped in front of him, authorities said.

The driver of the truck that ran off the road was the brother of the truck driver involved in the first wreck, authorities said.
