LUMBERTON, N.C. — A Lumberton man and a 13-year-old were arrested Thursday in connection with the deaths of two brothers in their home, authorities said.

Someone alerted the Robeson County Sheriff's Office to deceased bodies at 131 Marigold Lane on Tuesday night, and deputies found Frank Thomas, 34, and Adam Thomas, 33, dead in the home they shared.

The cause of death hasn't been released.

Derrick Deshawn Hunt, 19, and an unidentified 13-year-old were arrested at a home on Belyn Road in Rowland and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Hunt is also charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Hunt was being held without bond Friday at the Robeson County jail. The juvenile was being held at a regional juvenile detention center.

"Some have questioned our aggressive enforcement efforts regarding drug offenses in the county, as this is yet another case that has a drug component attached to it," Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said in a statement. "Unfortunately, some of our youth continue to take the wrong road, and while this murder was an isolated incident, no one deserves to be killed in such a manner."

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-671-3100 or 910-671-3170.
