Bragg paratrooper dies in wreck

Spc. Clifton P. Morrow, 22, of Irvington, Ala., died after the wreck on Farnell Avenue, south of Mobile, Ala. Civilian authorities were investigating the wreck.

Morrow was a crew chief with Company A, 1-82 Attack Recon Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade.

"Spc. Morrow always maintained a positive attitude, and he never complained about the difficult work that needed to be accomplished," Lt. Col. David Jernigan, Morrow's battalion commander, said. "He always had a smile on his face while working on the aircraft."

Morrow joined the Army in June 2006 and completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and advanced individual training at Fort Eustis, Va. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne as an Apache crew chief in March.

"I thank God for Spc. Morrow and the dedicated service that he performed for his country and his unit," Jernigan said. "He was truly a motivated trooper, and he will forever be missed."

Morrow’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Aviation Badge.

Morrow is survived by his mother, Carol Luciano, of Irvington, Ala., and his father, Clifton Morrow Jr., of Fla.
