FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman is speaking out after her husband was killed and she was injured after the two were struck by a truck that fled the scene and was being driven by a man whose license had been revoked
Roger Lilly, 54, appeared Wednesday in a Cumberland County courtroom, where his bond was raised from $17,000 to $250,000 in connection with the incident Monday.

Keith C. Jackson, 31, and Donna D. Jackson, 42, a husband and wife, were hit at about 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 3200 block of Bragg Boulevard, police said.

Lilly is facing several charges, including two counts of felony hit-and-run and one count of death by motor vehicle.

District Attorney Billy West said this is a tragic story that could have ended in not one, but two fatalities.

West also said Lilly's license had been revoked, and there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest on that charge.

Donna Jackson said she is alive today because her husband saw the oncoming truck and took quick action to push her out the way.

Witnesses from Black's Tires told investigators that the truck, allegedly driven by Lilly, crossed from the extreme left lane, jumped the pavement on the right and hit the couple while they were standing in the parking lot.

Jackson says that, after being hit, she sat up and saw her husband lying on the ground about 50 feet away.

She told a friend who witnessed the accident to get help for husband.

"She looked at me and said, 'Honey, nobody can help him,'" Jackson said. "I kept looking, and the longer I sat there and stared, I realized he hadn't moved, and that's when I knew my whole world was gone."

Investigators say her husband died at the scene.

She suffered multiple injuries, including bruises and broken ribs, and she says every bone in her left foot has been shattered.
