Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Cumberland County courthouse

A bomb threat at the Cumberland County Courthouse has prompted an evacuation and forced the suspension of operations at the building until later this afternoon, authorities said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A bomb threat at the Cumberland County courthouse has prompted an evacuation and forced the suspension of operations at the building until later this afternoon, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear when the bomb threat was received, but the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said in a written statement that operations at the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, located at 117 Dick Street, would be suspended until 1 p.m. today.

No injuries have been reported.
