CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-based fast food restaurant Bojangles is getting into the NFT business to help promote its 4-piece chicken supreme meal.

NFT stands for "non-fungible token" that usually takes the form of photos, videos and GIFs. The idea is that whoever purchases the piece of digital art will be given public ownership through blockchain technology.

Bojangles released seven different NFTs that people can bid on. All proceeds will go directly to local artists, according to a press release from Bojangles.
