Boil water advisory issued for Garner neighborhood
Raleigh city officials are advising residents in the Forest Landing neighborhood in Garner to boil their water before consumption because of the possibility of bacterial contamination.
Posted — UpdatedOfficials said Tuesday that a water main break has affected potable water service to the neighborhood, near the intersection of Benson Road and Foxbury Drive. The break of the 12-inch main happened about 3 p.m. Monday and affects about 130 customers.
The break has been repaired, but the advisory is in place because of the potential for contamination from cross-connections or back siphonage, officials said. Samples tested so far have not found any contamination.
