PITTSBORO, N.C. — The body of a Greensboro woman who hadn't been seen in almost three months was found Friday in Chatham County, authorities said.

Joy Amanda Moorefield, 40, had been missing since June 30.

During the course of their investigation, Greensboro police identified Jamey Preston Johnson as a suspect in her disappearance, and they believed Moorefield was a victim of foul play.

Johnson, 45, of Greensboro, was arrested Thursday on charges of first-degree murder and concealment of a death. The following day, investigators received information that Moorefield's body had been buried in Chatham County, and they were able to locate it.

No other details about the case, which remains under investigation, have been released.
